In its 16th edition, the Mediterranean Congress of Chemical Engineering (MeCCE) brings together leading voices from academia and industry to address the most pressing challenges facing critical industrial sectors. The congress Call for Abstracts is now open.
MeCCE will take place from 2 to 5 June 2026 in Barcelona, as part of EXPOQUIMIA, the international event for chemistry and process industries.
What makes MeCCE unique is its role as a bridge between science, engineering and industry. The congress fosters genuine dialogue between the academic community and the key industrial sectors that shape the ecosystem of chemistry and process industries.
The programme features internationally renowned speakers who are shaping the future of chemical engineering:
Top topics
- Pioneering approaches to teaching and learning in chemical engineering
- Innovative and critical raw materials
- Circularity and water resources
- Decarbonisation and hydrogen
- Digital twins, AI and advanced process control
- Food engineering and bioengineering, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals
This edition of MeCCE will once again showcase innovations, solutions, debates and challenges — but in a refreshed format. The congress is expanding to strengthen its distinctive feature: its close connection with Expoquimia. We foster networking and interaction between MeCCE participants and the key figures among the fair’s exhibitors.
