Cristina Sáenz de Pipaon

Biography

A physicist by training with a PhD in molecular magnetism, her work at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) eventually led her to the business world, as she took the lead of the spin-off Orchestra Scientific, which emerged from findings developed there. She currently leads the company, which specializes in developing advanced technologies for CO₂ capture and purification. Orchestra uses patented adsorbent materials (such as TAMOF-1) to separate carbon dioxide from other gases efficiently and at low cost, even under ambient conditions.
