Decarbonize to Compete: Data and Success Stories in the Chemical Industry

Industrial decarbonization is becoming a key driver of competitiveness for the chemical industry. In this roundtable, representatives from industry and the public sector will share experiences and discuss how to address this challenge, combining strategic vision with execution. Based on up-to-date data and real cases in Catalonia and Europe, solutions such as renewable hydrogen, process electrification, and CO₂ capture will be explored. Key barriers—energy costs, infrastructure, and regulation—will also be addressed, along with related opportunities such as access to European funding and the creation of new markets. A space for dialogue to identify concrete levers to accelerate the transition without compromising competitiveness.
