Emilio Palomares Gil

Biography

Emilio Palomares holds a degree in Biology and a PhD in Chemistry. Since 2020, he has served as an ICREA Research Professor and Director of the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ-CERCA). He joined the ICIQ in 2006 following a research stay at Imperial College London.

He has been awarded several grants from the European Research Council, including ERC Starting, Proof of Concept, and Advanced Grants, along with various national and international scientific awards. He has published over 300 articles and holds 6 patents. His research focuses on energy conversion, hydrogen (H₂) production, and CO₂ reduction.
